Light Sensing Inhibitor: [http://partsregistry.org/Part:BBa_I15008 BBa_I15008] (21A iGEM2006 DNA-2), [http://partsregistry.org/Part:BBa_I15009 BBa_I15009] (21C iGEM2006 DNA-2), [http://partsregistry.org/Part:BBa_I15010 BBa_I15010] (Must be used in E.coli deficient in natural EnvZ.), [http://partsregistry.org/Part:BBa_R0082 BBa_R0082] (15P iGEM2006 DNA-1)

Assembly of parts

Here are instructions for transforming DNA into cells and creating our own stock of DNA from the 2006 iGEM plates as well as figuring out where your part is on the plates.
Note: Any DNA in the DNA 1 plate is Ampicillin resistant but the DNA 2 plate contains either Ampicillin, Ampicillin-Kanamycin, and Kanamycin resistant DNA...we're still figuring out how to determine each part's resistance.

Questions

  • What strain of e. coli should we use? How do we make those cells competent?
  • How do we know which antibiotic Plate 2 DNA is resistant to?
  • How do we obtain part i15010? How do we obtain EnvZ- e. coli?
  • Who knows what we can buy now and what general lab supplies are available for our use?
