iGEM Ambassadors are qualified by being involved in previous iGEM programs.  They are a new addition to the iGEM competition for 2006.  The Ambassadors are sent by the iGEM program to assist school teams as necessary by promote communication and information exchange, visit and present teaching materials, and help support iGEM back end operations like the [http://partsregistry.org Parts Registry] and DNA assemblies.

It means first and foremost that we are here to help you and your team.  If you have questions, comments, gripes, suggestions, or other ideas about iGEM, we want to hear from you.  All the ambassadors will be working to put help information on the wiki or make other changes that will (hopefully) benefit all teams.  We'll be trying to visit each of the schools and learning more about you and your projects.  Note: if you have a problem with your ambassador, you should contact Randy Rettberg.

iGEM ambassadors were added to the competition in 2006. They are charged with helping each team, but in particular teams new to the program, have a successful experience. While team needs vary greatly, ambassadors generally maintain communications, visit, and provide tutorials or assistance as required. Behind the scenes, they help support both the Parts Registry and the iGEM wiki.
