Dominic: This is an idea I had during the discussion yesterday with Jonas. I have not totally thought this through. The dynamics are not entirely trivial, I guess, especially if not tuned well. And I obviously have no clue about what is really possible biologically speaking, especially with the excretion of hardening materials in order to build structures.

Urs: I think it's an interesting idea and by playing with the densitiy and the size of the the population you could get quite different results.

Christophe: I added an idea about the type of material the bacteria could be producing!

Dominic: added stuff and made some corrections - but with my static IP 129.132.113.123

@ Doninic: Hint: Just mark the "automatic login" or something like that option in your
user account preferences. Not that I don't like your IP and your comments about having
forget to log in...   ;-) jonas 16:07, 8 Aug 2005 (EDT)

Giorgia: as discussed today with Dominic, I added some ideas and literature on what kind of material the organisms could produce.

Your Ideas sound interesting, even if i don't understand a shit about the chemistry your talking about...
