The first meeting took place on Tuesday 1430.
Edge Detection
We decided to abandon this idea, mainly because the team from UT Austin already did quite the same work on the topic last year and are proceeding further this year. It seems not to make sense to reinvent the wheel. Their implementation approach is quite similar to what we planned to do.
Buffer Bacteria
After some discussion, Jonas and I (Simon) decided, that this project is not as interesting as other projects. The main task for this project would be to build a concentration specific enzyme producer. If such a module already exists, than we simply would have to find the right substrate-enzyme pair and combine two of this producers. One for decomposition the substrate if the concentration gets too high and one for the composition of the substance if concentration gets too low. There isn't any real modeling necessary, we think. On the other hand it is maybe a doable project, compared to the other projects which are rather complicated. If such a concentration specific producer does not exist, it may be interesting to invent one.
However, if anyone feels that these projects should be developed further, please feel free to state your comment here.
