Intro
The idea is to use bacteria as a buffer for a specific substance. (more to follow)
Principle
When the concentration of the specific substance rises above a threshold, the bacteria generates something that neutralizes it. When it falls below a certain threshold, the bacteria somehow manages to replenish it. Could be pH, but could be something else, e.g. protein, metabolite, etc.. Ideally, should be general enough to work with different stuff.
