Teach the Teachers 2006 Seminars

We are planning two Teachers Workshops in 2006, one in North America and one in Europe.

New instructors are required to attend one of the workshops. Experienced instructors -- ie. those that have participated in iGEM in previous years -- are also encouraged to attend. The workshop will describe the philosophical foundations of the iGEM program, describe the requirements and expectations for participation in 2006, and introduce the resources available to the participating teams. The workshop also provides an opportunity to meet the iGEM organizers, tour the laboratory operations that support the competition, socialize with other iGEM team leaders, and gather information and materials for a successful year.

North American TTT Workshop

  • Date: May 6, 2006
  • Location: MIT Stata Center (Building 32), 32 Vassar Street <see map below>
  • Room: 32-155 (ground floor, near cafeteria area)

Directions to MIT from Logan Airport

By taxi - Taxi fare from the airport is about $20-$25. During non-rush hour, the taxi ride will take about 15 minutes. During rush hour, the ride could take 30 minutes.

By subway - From any terminal at Logan airport, take the Silver Line bus to South Station. Under normal conditions the ride will take about one-half hour and the fare is $1.25. Click [http://www.mbta.com/traveling_t/schedules_subway.asp here] for maps and information about the Boston subway system.

By car - Leaving the airport, follow the signs to the Sumner Tunnel. Enter the tunnel and stay in the right lane. At the end of the tunnel, continue to stay in the right lane, start down an incline and bear to the right immediately at the sign for Storrow Drive. Take Exit 26 for Cambridge/Somerville.
