Hi,
My name is Kim de Mora and I am a member of the 2006 Edinburgh IGEM team. I graduated with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Management from University of Edinburgh in June of this year. I have just started a PhD in Synthetic Biology under the supervision of Dr Alistair Elfick again, here at Edinburgh.
Without wanting this to sound too much like a personals ad, my hobbies are lifting weights, running, cycling and I’m a big movie buff. I’ve worked in pubs and clubs in Edinburgh for the last 3 years, doing everything from security to running a cocktail bar in a nightclub. Its more of a hobby than a job now, but I still do it because I enjoy it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the iGEM competition and think that it has been a valuble introduction to Synthetic Biology. I hope that the jamboree goes well for us and that I can be involved in the competition again next year.
