Our Idea
Bacterial “Relay Race”
-> 1. A motile bacteria [B1] moves along a microchannel producing a diffusible quorum signal
-> 2. When it encounters a second immotile bacteria [B2], the quorum signal turns on a switch controlling the latter’s motility
-> 3. Concurrently switching off its own motility, [B1].
