Talk:Random Number Generator
From 2006.igem.org
- Urs: Really very important for some engineering issues. But how could we affect the statistical behaviour of this randomness (Gaussian, uniform,...)?
- Dominic: how would one actually read the random number generated? One could have the cells distributed on a dish and take a picture. The pixels are then set to 1 or 0 depending on whether the fluorescence of the bacterium or rather the bacteria captured by that pixel passes a certain threshold. When adding up the lines in to a single string you would get a binary repesentation of a random number.
