The Jamboree will be held at MIT's [http://web.mit.edu/evolving/buildings/stata/index.html Stata Center], also known as Building 32.

Click [http://whereis.mit.edu/map-jpg?mapterms=32&mapsearch=go here] for a map of the MIT campus.

To get to Stata from Logan Airport:

By taxi - Taxi fare from the airport is about $20-$25. During non-rush hour, the taxi ride will take about 15 minutes. During rush hour, the ride could take 30 minutes or more.

By subway - From any terminal at Logan Airport, take the Silver Line bus to South Station. At South Station, change to the Red Line subway to Kendall/MIT (inbound toward Alewife). Under normal conditions the ride will take about one-half hour and the fare is $1.25.

Accommodations

Hotels around MIT are expensive ($250-$350), but lower rates (about $120) can be found nearby, within a short cab or subway ride.

Hostels

[http://www.hostelsweb.com/hostelsweb.com/hostel.php?HostelNumber=1852 Hostelling International] has a youth hostel about 10 mins walk from the MIT campus. Beds are about $37 per night.

Hotel@MIT

  • The [http://www.hotelatmit.com Hotel@MIT] (20 Sidney St, Cambridge,(617) 577-0200) is excellent and close to campus (see map above). iGEM discounted rates expired on October 3rd.

Other Hotels

  • The Boston Marriott Cambridge (2 Cambridge Ctr, Cambridge, (617) 494-6600) is also a good choice for nearby accommodation.
  • The [http://www.kendallhotel.com/ Kendall Hotel] is a block away from the Stata Center
  • [http://www.radisson.com/cambridgema The Radisson Hotel] (777 Memorial Drive) is about a mile from the Stata, and has less expensive rooms.
  • A list of temporary housing near MIT can be found [http://web.mit.edu/housing/och/temporary_housing.html here], or check major travel web sites (Travelocity, Expedia, or Hotels.com) for other accommodation options.

Schedule

Pre-event social: Teams arriving early and looking to socialize are welcome to meet up at [http://www.flattopjohnnys.com Flat Top Johnny's] (pool bar), Kendall Square (5 minute walk from Stata), after 7:30 pm.
