Using control of chemotaxis, we are trying to get two-dimensional control of bacterial movement. To do this, we are testing constructs that inducably express the Tar or Tsr receptors. For now, induction is chemical, using IPTG or aTC.

In order to get such chemotactic control, we propose three gradients, two of which are the bacteria will respond to only when induced, and a default "negative" pathway which, in this case, is an attractant.
