Intro & principle
An oscillating clustering-despersing behavior.
The "Repellent" Approach
Basic Idea
The idea would be to use an oscillatory network which in the high phase would trigger transcription of an aggregation factor and in low expression phase would trigger expression of a repellent.
Using this system with an appropriate oscillation period, we should be able to see a pulser on the plate. In the high expression phase, bacteria would aggregate and in the low phase they would separate and so on.
Challenges
- To realize this pulser, we need to look for a good repellent factor candidate.
- An oscillator is needed.
Implementation Strategies
- The possible aggregation factors are Antigen 43 or type 1 Fimbriae.
