I'm an iGEM ambassador working primarily with schools in the Western and Southeastern United States.  Last year I was part of the [[UC Berkeley 2005]] iGEM team ("Addressable bacterial networks using conjugation").  I'll be starting my PhD in Biomedical Engineering in August at Georgia Tech, but for now I'm looking forward to working with schools and 'monkeying with the wiki', as [http://www.openwetware.org/wiki/Andrew_Hessel Andrew] calls it  <br>

Hello! I am a first year PhD student in Biomedical Engineering and an iGEM 2006 ambassador

I believe that the iGEM program is an integral part of bringing new students and new ideas into the thriving, dynamic, and very new community of synthetic biologists.

  • Part of the [http://2006.igem.org/UC_Berkeley_2005 Berkeley 2005 iGEM team] project on [http://www.coe.berkeley.edu/giving/deans_society/2005/IGEM.pdf "Addressable Bacterial Communication"]
  • I am currently working on creating MEMs (micro-electro-mechanical) devices for the low-cost high throughput sorting for directed evolution of microbes in the [http://www.chbe.gatech.edu/lu/ Lu] and [http://www.chbe.gatech.edu/chen/ Chen] labs.
  • Also worked on the Berkeley Lower Extremity Exoskeleton (BLEEX) in the [http://bleex.me.berkeley.edu/bleex.htm Human Engineering and Robotics Laboratory]
